Update II: My new AKAI MPK Mini IV does in fact work on my ancient Mac - yay
! I just have to enable it manually in Reaper, just like on Linux; remains to be seen if I also have to constantly re-enable it...It may be hard to see but even this small difference in key size makes a huge difference - it's much more comfy to play
