@aral As a Trans Brit - I immediately abandoned ALL plans to (eventually) visit the US for the "Neotropolis" LARP event purely because how awful it is there! It's just isn't worth my safety over, which is proven time and time again. /gen

@aral Same here. A co-worker wanted to travel to the USA a few months ago. I asked him to reconsider and advised against it. He went anyway.
Some more months prior to that I had already shown him pictures of Musk (and others) doing Hitler salutes. So it was pure ignorance.
Some (many) people are hopeless cases.
Luckily he came back and nothing happened to him. He's white.

I worry about my daughter and family going to Disneyland, Florida in the spring. They don't pay much attention to news reports about the US and being white, straight, married with kids they'll probably be ok. I'd rather they didn't go, for their own safety, but also because anything that hits the US economy is desirable. It's the only influence us non-US people have. But I can't stop them.
