Any recommendations for #mastodon server hosts? Just need a single user instance at the moment
Best price I found was £5ish per month but I would like to pay less for a single user. And don't want to spin up my own.
Also I'm not leaving #SocialCoop, don't worry!

If you want managed hosting approx £3 to £5 is probably the lowest you can get while still being reliable and sustainable.
One of the newer hosts you might want to try is https://fedihost.co/hosting/mastodon
Reducing the number of users does lower the costs, but not in a linear way. There are some services that have to be present on all servers even if they have one user. If there are many users these fixed costs get diluted, if there's one user they have to pay for all the fixed costs.
