They never mention that "fitness" in a social species requires "ability to work co-operatively with others", and that this is in fact humanity's strong point.

Yes, the point of competition is to find a way to AVOID it. They might point to territoriality as “competing for,” space or something, but the point of having your own territory is so you don’t have to compete for everything all day long, it’s a solution for competition.

As is cooperation. We had risen above simple competition eras ago, and now they’re dragging us back into it.

As a cooperator I am fittest to avail myself of the resilience multiplier called "cooperation."
