People can name macOS releases by their wallpaper. Each feels distinct – which is important for more than "looks nice'. Ubuntu ships BIG improvements every 6 months, but shirks the user-facing branding opportunity to communicate "hey, new one" to casuals.

I can't really picture a Fedora-style space-themed watercolor, and I think Ubuntu manages to keep it simple yet nice.
