Like I keep saying, just because something is nominally available for Linux, that doesn't mean it works, or even is the same thing
I did manage to load an amp & an IR on Linux, though, and it does seem like there's something to the reputation this plugin has. Will investigate further, but pro'lly on MacOS.

@jwcph worth noting that the tone stack here is just a post EQ as far as I understand. The NAM capture is exactly as the amp was set on capture. So if you have another EQ plugin in a chain it ought to do the same.

@optilude Yeah, seems that way - meaning it's still not like playing through an amp
I fiddle quite a bit with tone controls etc.; having only a static setting of one specific amp isn't going to appeal that much to me, probably... -

But what you describe is a factor of any “capture” based tech (so ToneX, Kemper, QuadCortex, NAM). The upside though is that modern captures can be very realistic and responsive to pickups, guitar volume and playing dynamics -

The upside though is that modern captures can be very realistic and responsive to pickups, guitar volume and playing dynamics@optilude Yeah, it seems like a good way of getting realistic amp sounds without the CPU-heavy process of simulating the amp & cab in detail, if I'm understanding this correctly
but of course there's trade-offs
