The statements in here are, strictly speaking, correct. But of course Eurostar passenger numbers at those stations were not increasing because Eurostar was already reducing services before ending them completely! #CrossChannelRail

Meanwhile Renfe’s information provision is laughably bad, as ever
Pic 1 - Check my Irun - Madrid train - their website defaults to French as I have a French IP. It gives me a warning only in a pop-up that my train won't start at Irun but at San Sebastián
Pic 2 - Check times Irun-San Sebastián and it tells me it takes 5 hours! Errr.. no
Pic 3 - Because I need to check the Cercanias sub page on Renfe's website, and ta da! An hourly train taking 33 mins

🧽:These trains are… not great. They’re super spacious inside but the seats are rock hard and at speed they’re really noisy.

My next #CrossChannelRail train is compulsory reservation. But as it’s a Renfe Media Distancia train it was no problem getting it on the spot. Cost €4 with Interrail. I’d not risk it like this in peak summer season, but today it’ll be fine.
