I've tried various ways to find out how big the partition might be in total, so I can subtract the blocks from gpt show - but it has to be accurate &amp; none of the numbers I've found &amp; tried so far have worked. Looks like the command:</p><p>gpt show devicename</p><p>Might give you the info you need. "devicename" will be what the system calls your disk, usually /dev/(something). </p><p>You might be lucky, the manuals might be available - try:</p><p>man gpt </p><p>That might show you the "man page" for the gpt command. I don't know how functional the rescue shell is, but if I recall correctly (and my recall is not to good ATM) the BSD got program can tell you the dimensions of the disk, or it may have been a separate utility.
