There is no "The System". It is people. But for all Americans' bluster about fighting for freedom, and an entire amendment about it, they're pretty complacent.

And the people who thought opposing a Hitler-loving monster by portraying him as either a bumbling fool or a balloon in the shape of a cute baby, while donning "pussy hats", are pretty stupid too. TrumpCo just seized control of >1/3 of the world's oil supply and almost of fertilizer production... they are going to starve the world's liberal democracies until they turn fascist.

And our response to this situation is supposed to be "Look at the incompetence"! Hon, I've got news for you....

Yep, the very "system" that was designed to protect the interests of rich white men... still works for them.

Let's be clear...it is not the system...it's the people running the system. I hear the same complaint about computers, "computers are doing bad things". No they're not. They're doing exactly what people are telling them to do.

People are causing the corruption. People are not stopping the corruption.

Unfortunately I would have to agree with those who say the system is doing as the system has been designed to do, and most of our established leaders (from both parties) are just playing out their roles as they have been written. It's performance politics at best.

And I'm not usually the conspiracy theory type. I'm just calling it for what I am seeing: injustice sewn into the fabric of society, metastasizing into unbridled, unapologetic fascism.

The saddest part of all, for me, has been watching friends and family just ... carrying on, like nothing is wrong. Like somehow the nation will self-correct, and nobody will actually have to make any changes to their lives or choices.
