This instruction was written with white text on white, which students did not see it, but when copying the assignment into ChatGPT, the white text was read as an instruction and followed by AI.

Result: 32 of 35 students were busted for letting AI do their homework. Who will keep the wheels turning, when our generation is gone?

People these days cannot understand the difference between competent and bluffer, between genius and salesman, between successful and swindler.
Imagine society after a couple of generations where the most “educated” people circumvented their own education with AI shortcuts.

That "trap"' is an old hat. Our students don't fall into it anymore. It was also used to detect AI-written reviews of scientific papers but was quickly countered/circumvented.

What is indeed the much bigger problem is the loss of competence. I've recently commented on this (German only unfortunately):
