Last year I built this web platform for tracking datacentre activity for civil society. A kind of alternative to the datacenter maps that are glued together by powerful lobbyists. I am not hosting the web platform right now (do not have the capacity but archive version in comment), but I just want to notify that the code is there, and can be forked, used, adapted, and developed upon by the rise of datacenter resistances I see popping up around me. Feel free if there is no better alternatives. Use it openly or privately in your resistances - I can help you with setup if you need this.

The platform features:
- A map of datacenters
- Company entries (that can hold pseudonyms since DC-producing corporations e.g., Microsoft tend to hide their identity... creepy)
- Datacenter entries
- Report entries connected to each datacenter (news links, personal xp, etc)

What made me make this?

Last year I visited a friend in Norway in Tydal (733 people in the municipality). Around 8pm each night the silence was replaced by a humming sound that penetrated everything. My friend told it was from a datacenter some kilometers away, and they were running services for US corporations. After this I researched online and found an article by a civilian in the area that got his and his children’s night sleep destroyed by this sound. Then last week my friend send me this article:

They will expand their crypto coin mining activity with an AI lab for US companies, and in the meantime peoples - as well as non-humans - life quality are destroyed. This is hard to bear.

Civil society can stand powerless in the face of big corporations. They manipulate and lobby us, and if you are e.g., a municipality of 733 people in a region of 1300 square kilometers, what is the chance that you can gather information to construct your own rationales? By chaining "reports" or events connected to datacenters I hoped this platform could help with transparency.

Translated:
"Fredrik lost the night's sleep to a mysterious sound in Tydal: - Penetrating through the marrow and bones."

Last year I could read the content (there is a paywall), and it said that Fredrik said he believed it was form the datacenter (of course it is). Now - a year later - I can see in the subheading that the newspaper have added this (in english translation):
"Chairman Haakon Bryhni of Tydal Data Center does not think the sound is coming from the data center."

I wonder if they wrote to the newspaper and got them to add it...
