I'm Romanian and we usually cook with sunflower oil. Olive oil is considered a "delicacy" and used mostly in salads, and butter is too expensive for most people to use in cooking.

I’m talking 100 year old people who survive the most absurd health conditions doctors swore it would kill them. I really can’t explain what keeps my family alive other than chain smoking and olive oil.
