I don’t think there’s a way to have both. Lucky for me, I don’t want AI summaries of anything ever.

I have to admit that I thought replacing the “I want to read this” button with an “I don’t want to read this” button was exceptionally insulting for a number of reasons.

But that’s the rub isn’t it? That security team is helping them cram AI into every orifice. I feel like my use of a “spite fork” (great term!) is a protest vote. What’s the right protest vote if not that? The feedback from Firefox users has been pretty clear but it’s not making any difference, is it?

True Story: when I was at Mozilla, I had to get our legal team to send the waterfox guy a cease and desist order after he copied the Mozilla website wholesale and just replaced some graphics and “fire” with “water”. It even listed all the Mozilla executive staff as working there. I congratulated our CEO on his side gig. He didn’t think it was funny.

I switched to it a few months ago and haven’t looked back. So good I became a monthly supporter.
