In the late 1960s, I watched a chess master play against a computer at MIT (i.e., when computers were much slower, etc,). It was down to the end game and it was obvious that the computer had lost. But it did a fantastic job of forestalling the inevitable - I presume due to exhaustive search rather than intelligence. It took 40--50 additional moves to checkmate it.

When the enemy E.W. paperwork showed he was getting paid 4x my rate, I knew to charge a lot more on my second (and, very hopefully, last) E.W. gig.

N.b. that was around $470/hour and 15 years ago. I expect the rate has gone up.

I think I’m way ahead of you, buddy. 🙂 my idea is to take all of them, pack them off to a desert island with no connectivity whatsoever.
