That is, it tastes good, but every replicated meal tastes EXACTLY the same. There's no novelty, no slightly different blend of spices or mix of textures, no surprise. Humans are irrational creatures and so the <em>story</em> of the food affects our perception of how it tastes. It's why home-grown produce tastes better even when it's basically identical to the storebought kind.</p><p>This does not apply to tomatoes. I wonder if there's a whole culinary skill around simplifying a recipe so it's less complex to replicate?  </p><p>And I bet drinks are easier, because it's all water with a suspension of some chemical.
