What it will do, though, is tell Putin that we don’t care about civilian deaths, systematic rape of a captured populace, torture, and hybrid warfare.

None of this is surprising, of course, because Donald Trump doesn’t read or understand anything, is incapable of critical thinking, and would do anything to feel like he’s part of the dictator club.

How physically this volume of diesel will be transported out of Russia w/o agreement with Ukraine and EU partners (if EU signed such a deal with Iran it would have been hard to transport anything out of Iran w/o US permission)? Can’t such a deal worsen situation with diesel in Russia itself? What can Ukraine demand from US to stop attacks of refineries? And so on.

It gives Trump the opportunity to blame Ukraine if it continues to attack the Russian refineries, giving him an excuse to withholding US arms that it needs to defend itself from being terrorized. Either way, Putin profits.

Only needs to do so for a couple months. Just needs to relieve enough pressure that the true numbers can be hidden and the economy doesn't crash completely quite yet.

If Ukraine continues their attacks of course they can take the blame. This is a win/win for the Trumps and Putin both no matter what happens after November. Insider trading will be jacked.
