@benlockwood since when? I haven't nearly any followers and no one sees my posts. I don't know how to connect to other people who are interested in species- and wildlifeconservation or zoology. Mastodon unfortunately seems more like a server for press releases to me. Do I use it wrong?

Use hashtags to search for posts that interest you, then check out the posters and who they follow/their followers.
