@pluralistic if you find one, please let us know. They blocked one of our IPs and their SNDS system is broken and won't let us add our own IPs so we can't find out why.

@beasts @pluralistic it's only a 3 trillion dollar company, you can't expect them to get basic services right.

Anyone have contact with Microsoft network ops? They've blackholed my SMTP (204.11.50.134) (which is used by me and half a dozen other people, none of whom send spam), and my admin's on vacation and I don't wanna screw up his time off. This is obviously a false positive though.

Good luck. I'm sorry I can't help you but I won't be surprised that they blacklisted you **purposely**

@kat @pluralistic Once filed, hit me up if you need someone to push from inside the company. Happy to help, especially if I have a name of someone to escalate with (it’s a big company and that’s not a team I work with).

@Aaron @kat You were completely right - they immediately replied that I wasn't blackholed, so I re-sent a message I'd tried to send to an Outlook user earlier today and got a bounce, which I attached to a reply. Here's hoping that this gets a response after someone actually checks.

@pluralistic Believe it or not, I have had decent results going through their support channels. This has happened to my mailserver more than once.

Do you know anyone with an @outlook[.]com email address or maybe even a paying O365 customer?

Then just try to send them an email and let them open a ticket about issues RECEIVING mails from you (without mentioning anything that a regular recipient wouldn't know).

That's usually the fastest way to resolve such issues...

@arrrg With all respect, this isn't helpful. I've been self-hosting my mail since the 1990s and the server administration is the former CTO of Wikimedia. We don't have any of these issues, and I'm not in the market for someone telling me that I shouldn't host my own mail.

they seems to have do some change of config recently.
some client on MS have tell us that dkim was broken. It was not but they have raised the bar to 2048bits rsa key for dkim (may be we were lagging behind on that).
we have configured postfix to "talk" slowly to their smtp server, but we have been temporary banned for sending to much mails to them...

such pain, if only they were'nt 1/4 of our mails destinations...

@pluralistic @Aaron @kat It would also be good if independent mail server operators file complaints at https://competition-policy.ec.europa.eu/antitrust-and-cartels/procedures/complaints_en so this anti-competitive behavior can be ended for once and for all.

                                        hang on, gotta fix this.

                                        "...once a year"

                                        OK. That's better.

@Cory Doctorow Welcome to Big Tech's subtle ways to disrupt other mail systems, so that people will decide to "just use Microsoft, that always works".

Google does the same. Completely legit mail will disappear, or be marked as spam without any reason. "If you use GMail to send mail, that doesn't happen."

                                          @hans Yes, nice!
For local mailings I have the Reply-to via the M365 based mail server for the party forwarding our mail to our local mail account as I've seen forwards from the M365 to our mailbox with Strato bounce.

I also noticed that some people must be on the list with an MS mail address which they have set to forward to their GMail, also these bounce.

                                          So, yes, goes brilliant.
