Isn't there Stage 4, where they hire back a bunch of 'junior devs' to actually WRITE code, to 'get around' the LLM tokens nonsense?!

So the connection you're making to LLM companies is that, despite bringing the technology to the masses, they're falling behind cheaper competitors. And that companies that don't manage quality control in their LLM use, the default state of affairs, are suffering due to mid-level engineer burnout. It's like the Boeing case, but with the effects directed outwards to customers. Is that it?

At some point, every practice goes through a point where outside senior management thinks they know everything about how the sausage is made.

And they don't. And that business, practice or industry inevitably collapses because every small failure along the way was ignored by people who told themselves they knew better and didn't have to listen to people who actually understood their jobs.

The Boeing “set of short-term avarice decisions” was decades in the making & only “grabbed attention” when planes & their components started falling out the sky with paying passengers onboard. Intel & Kodak also avarice-driven. “Avarice” is not a business purpose.

With AI-LLM consequences, do we wait until “humans” are literally falling out of:
1. the sky
2. their minds
3. employment

AI is going to Kodak America.

This statement: "When I looked back at her sprint that week, she had zero points to show for it.", contains enough red flags to be sure that this manager is in the second category.

Of course, businesses with poor processes are likely to reach for AI because it seems to offer an easy fix.

These are businesses that moved fixed-cost to variable-subscription- cost and are “surprised” they can no longer afford essential service price increase. What did they think would happen?
