It was a feature that didn't exist and so yes it is indeed a new feature, but the lack of it was certainly an issue (getting routed around an area rather than through it doesn't seem desirable in any way). It wasn't an "issue" to start with (if you take what is currently considered base functionality as a start), it's a new feature. </p><p>It is going to be a very long path before similar functionality is available in any appreciable number of routers, particularly on mobile.
