45 minutes away, in the greater Palm Springs area, it is 109° with 13% humidity and tomorrow is supposed to hit 115°.

Due to evaporation, its levels have dropped so low that it's not usable by ships and you can just walk (as in: walk, not swim) through it most of the time in most places.
during spring it was usable by a total of like two dozen cargo ships. this is not new, it was very similar last year as well.
