And it cost $3600 per year. Now running the same store on an open source store software that is better than the paid shop. On a small VPS with 1 core and 8 GB Ram, at a cost of $200 per year.

It is possible to get away from big tech. Just takes a lot of little steps.

(Still owned by Adobe, but I am not using their hosting and integration). Lots of add-on modules available from independent programmers. Runs on a VPS by a European provider.
I make a lot of thermocouples, a sort of temperature sensor. For everyone from a hobby potter with a little kiln in the backyard to NASA. A lot for battery labs and EV companies.
