My woolen sweaters I have not washed a single time ever for several of them. Underwear directly in contact with skin is the only thing to really wash regularly. Oh wait, my woolen socks... Wash them every second wearing instead of every wearing, helps with longevity. Washing results in a lot of wear and tear.

Well, "tear". I guess by definition you are reducing the "wear" if you do this : -)
