At TomTom I'm working with the team that fixes harmful edits/vandalism that occurs in OSM, and a significant portion of the edits I look at every day are just people accidentally dragging nodes in iD.

I'm assuming this topic has already been debated countless times thošŸ˜†

I don't see why this wouldn't be a great feature for iD as well.
