It's a two-step process, when you click "Follow" (or "Følg" in Norwegian), you get to input the name of the instance (where your mastodon account is). This is automatically filled in for me, probably since I've done similar before. Hitting a "Go" button brings you to your account, with e.g. the profile of the European Commission displayed, where you may hit "Follow" to actually have the follow action completed.
