Why would anyone think they can't abandon the US? Of course they can - it's a big planet, even if staying on the US market in any capacity wasn't increasingly a liability, which it is.

Between a legal system entirely beholden to a smal cabal of the worst businessmen in the world & their desire to exploit you, a consumer market too impoverished to afford your shit & the risk of straight-up blackmail, there's every reason to direct efforts elsewhere, even if there's an initial cost.
