Be careful which accounts you tag in your posts or DMs. If you tag an account with an @ mention, that account will be able to see your post or DM no matter what visibility you are using.
If you want to mention an account without that account seeing your post, you can (for example) replace the @ symbols with the word AT. Alternatively, you can remove the @ symbols or put spaces around them to stop them working.

@FediTips Speaking of DMs or @ mention with all things considered I’m still pretty new at fediverse concept. Probably because I haven’t really done much of anything extra than what I used to do over at Bluesky or with Instagram. Though I’m at the point of all in on fediverse. But for now still using Signal app though; however, increasing want to figure out what is this Sup app. Is it the Signal app for fediverse? If it is, I guess I’m switching to Sup app too. Unless something else is better out there. And if another person is not on fediverse messaging app, I guess that’s it then

If you want to try out federated messaging services right now, there's XMPP / Jabber (https://joinjabber.org) and Delta Chat (https://delta.chat).
They're not exactly the same protocol as the Fediverse, but they have the same kind of federated structure where you pick a server and message with people on other servers.
