Firefox v153.0 seems to have introduced a new category in “Permissions and data“. I know see popups asking:

example.com wants to access other apps and services on this device
Learn more

and here I can read:

What is considered “device apps and services”?
“Device apps and services” are your personal computer and all the applications installed on it.

What? Why would a website want to know “all the applications” installed on my pc, and why would I allow that?

But more to the point: Had I allowed this, what would #Firefox actually return to the website? Does any of you know? And is there an #API so that I can try asking for ther information myself?
