<![CDATA[Ok this is frustrating.]]>Ok this is frustrating. I'm trying to migrate my account to my new mastodon server and the "move to a different account" function is not working. It insists the new account: swader@masto.swader.social does not exist. I did successfully find it from mastodon.social but it's not playing.

Biggest issue is I'm unable to transfer my followers. It seems it'll set up a redirect but that's not the same thing AFAIK

Any ideas @FediTips ??

It sounds like the alias on the other server hasn't worked for some reason, might be worth trying again?

It would be step 8 in the guide at https://fedi.tips/transferring-your-mastodon-account-to-another-server

Once you've done that, wait at least five minutes as it sometimes takes a while for the alias to start working.
