How many people are actually working for Wikipedia with a valid work contract? Is it a 9-to-5 job? What do they do? Do they have a pension fund?

Wikipedia operates on fundraisers and donations. It's a nonprofit entity, and as such, it's constantly asking users to give money. Personally, I thought that money was going to infrastructure and utility bills, not salaries.

How would you unionise under these circumstances, anyway?
