<![CDATA[Yesterday I was invited to a special demonstration of the GIER computer, the first transistorised computer in Denmark from 1962, at the Dansk Datahistorisk Forening.]]>Yesterday I was invited to a special demonstration of the GIER computer, the first transistorised computer in Denmark from 1962, at the Dansk Datahistorisk Forening.

The machine is restored to working condition (unfortunately the console typewriter is broken and replaced by a Raspberry Pi) and I was allowed to operate the GIER - it already had an OS and an Algol compiler - and the paper tape reader.

What a great experience - thanks a lot to everyone involved!
