On average, only 1/3 of the code in an application is actually used regularly. We never needed to write more code, we should stop writing useless code. No wonder drinking from the code firehose doesn't do anything. ‍️

gilgwath@social.tchncs.de

Reply to A great example of how being able to write code more quickly doesn’t translate to business or user value. on Sun, 07 Jun 2026 10:27:30 GMT

@wagesj45
@carnage4life
Have you met anyone who is able to communicate their needs?

Not what they want, but was they really need?

blackoverflow@norden.social

Reply to A great example of how being able to write code more quickly doesn’t translate to business or user value. on Sun, 07 Jun 2026 09:16:57 GMT

@carnage4life Yeah, I guess that having to put some efforts in building apps used to made people to be sure it was really necessary to build one before, if there is some need for them.
