Following hashtags is far superior to boosting. It puts things in your feed where you want them, not on your page where you want your own stuff featured, not other peoples.

Focus.

I give you my focus.

You give me yours.

We both know focus moves and leaps and does many things more as well.

Focus over time is a swirl.

I swirl through feeds of relevant interest.

Focus with regular update passes is a scan.

I scan for updates in a feed, while on a swirl, or across categories of interest.

Humanity is an ocean of dynamics and act no differently than any other focal force over time.

With camp mates, there is the idea of togetherness, but how to call the one who follows you without being followed by you?

BOOSTED

Therefore I suffer propose the term "camp mates" for followers!

Slightly long winded response to explain my suggestion, as to what to call your followers, apologies.

When I first joined the Fediverse, I learned it was like a massive campsite, the server is your group of tent(s), and you hear all the local chat around the local campfire.

You can link up with tents anywhere else, and hear their chat too, but you have to go find those people first (for example by using hashtags)...

I try to regularly boost a few interesting things but not too much out of fear of floading my followers with random stuff.

(A few of us are looking for another word to replace the word follower which we find a little pretentious.)
