Hmm, sew another pair of jeans, or sew a plaid shirt next. 🤔

(no pressing need for either, but I have the fabrics to make either/both/many. Probably will do both anyway). Given the small size of my wardrobe, if I keep this up, it's likely I will have repaired, modified, or sewn almost every piece of clothing I own, lol. (aside from underwear and socks).

When I did costuming, the budgets were small, the deadlines were tight. First step was always shop the back stash. Then check thrift stores or buy full price whatever you could, then start modifying.

How about a tote bag? They are small, so you won't need a lot of fabric.
They have straight seams. The handles can be strong webbing. If you are feeling adventurous, you can turn your own with self fabric.

Use it for groceries. You will learn about:
the strength of your seams
how the shape matters
how much more weight a well designed handle supports.

Pockets are optional.

Problem is that adds weight. This is the point where I'd fall down the rabbit hole on backpack research for materials and reducing friction in problem spots etc. I'm sure that's just scratching the surface too.

So useful for sure though, so many places having a machine is useful (I have fixed several of my backpacks, although one I think is going to have to be rebuilt, the cheap synthetic fabric is just wearing out completely due to sun damage...)
