Again. There are many, many users and each of them has some idea how should Gnome/KDE or other SW look and how should work. So devs and their preferences and vision are important there.

Personally I don't like Gnome philosophy, so I don't use it.

Shit ton of GNOME users for example complain about GNOME design decisions and yet they never listen to them. What the GNOME team decide is what matters. I think these are separate questions.

There is a lot of bad faith out there, and there are people who will, out of nowhere, start things to cause a ruckus.

I can understand dismissal. I think that if "larger" voices join in, it will not be dismissed any more. I think this is a matter of that project (for the people) staying organised over time.
