tl;dr: I made funny and possibly insulting DNS records!

For DNS domains and systems I managed I used the "nslookup" command - which required you to type "exit" to get out. For some reason my brain insisted on typing "quit" first - which always ended up with nslookup trying to look up the record "quit".

So I made one. It pointed to another machine named "type-exit-you-idiot" which was enough to jog my memory so I could get out of this utility.

This worked great until another member of staff also used nslookup and typed "quit"...

Thankfully they also found that funny. I changed the record after that.

i've been using unix command line shells for literally decades on a daily basis. i still learn new tricks (or relearn forgotten tricks) pretty often.
