One general pattern: the moment you uncheck a box or click customize, suddenly “accept all“ appears, shifts, or enlarges.

Generally this kind is behavior leads me to believe those involved do not care about their less technical family members, friends, or neighbors. If they looked at their family trees they would have to circle many ancestors who would be abused by their creations.
