The fact that there were (and still are to an extent) very loud HOA-types during the Twitter exodus didn't help with getting people to sign up here either.

I do think the fediverse is the best *for me*. I think there is a way forward for making it a place for the folk who rely on social media for their jobs as well; I just don't know what that way is.
