In China, most workers are taxed little, if any at all.

For example, in the city where I live, worker's avg income is ~8.5k CNY/mo, and the income tax rate is:

<5k (CNY/mo): 0%
5k-8k: 3%
8k-17k: 10%
...
>85k: 45%

Let's say that you earn 8k CNY/mo (a decent amount, unless you work in tech), you're taxed (5k * 0% + (8k - 5k) * 3%) == 90, only ~1% of total income.

Don't know much about billionaires, but other sources of income (e.g. stock) are usually taxed way more than wages.

If you adjust for 2026 it actually looks like the federal minimum wage is still fucking $7.25.
