They had a good product and a competent team already with tons of goodwill. That's momentum.

Velocity is for startups. @protonprivacy could have literally done *nothing* and they'd be able to carve out a comfortable niche for themselves. They could have literally just sat on their asses, twiddled their thumbs, and raked in money and then Andy could have made like Gabe Newell and bought a yacht in a few decades if he'd had any patience.
