this is for claimed violation of copyright. causes of action:

* direct infringement by torrenting
* contributory infringement by torrenting
* direct infringement
* removal or alteration of copyright management information

the torrenting is Anthropic's previously-admitted book torrenting in 2021-2022, other downloads and scraping, and that this grabbed lyrics without paying for them

i don't see a claim that Claude's been spitting out copies (I just skimmed), but most of this is hammering on the copyright violation claims

i have no idea if this will go anywhere

It's very strange that suddenly the ones enforcing copyright on behalf of big companies (major publishers, labels and such) in my country - who used to focus on targeting random individuals with massive fines, that would financially ruin them for years if they won - are now actually targeting someone worse (and even bigger) than them, and for a good reason, too.
