The fish traps at Brewarrina may not seem very exciting at first glance, but when you stop and think about them, they are amazing. People who lived here 20,000 years ago placed them in the river and used them to catch fish.

This was 8,000 years before the construction of Stonehenge.

9,000 years before the first human settlement at Jericho.

14,000 years before the construction of the pyramids.

They are older than any other man-made structures on Earth.

Not sure where the 20,000 figure comes from. Wikipedia and its sources express uncertainty and any correlation with low water levels in local rivers would put them at 15,000 to 9,000 years old.
