They all voiced one opinion: "developer verification must be stopped"
@marcprux has written an open letter, signed by likeminded organisations who want to #keepandroidopen

Fun fact: We talked with more GOS users at FOSDEM than stock Android users.

Otherwise, once installed, Lineage and other Android distributions can give the freedom back to their users to install what they want.

Regarding "secure", do read https://f-droid.org/docs/Inclusion_How-To/#reproducible-builds too.

Note that Google knows PR really well, people already relaxed and forgot about this, as media just repeated the Google texts verbatim.
