Guidelines:

Things that are well-made and durable (even if they won’t last a lifetime) are A-Okay!

Unlike that other BIFL place, Home-made and DIY items are encouraged here, as long as some form of instruction is included in the body of the post.

Videos links are not allowed as post titles, but you may use them in a text post.

A limited amount of self-promotion is accepted, IF the item you are selling aligns with this criteria:

  1. The item must be made with sustainable or recycled materials.
  2. If electronic in some way, the item must be open-source.
  3. The item must be user-serviceable (if applicable).
  4. You cannot be a large corporation.
  5. The post must be clearly marked with a [Self Promotion] tag in your title.

I tried brass quick connect hose fittings but the ball bearings kept denting the brass and the fit got worse and worse. I replaced them with some stainless steel quick connect fittings I found on ebay from a power washer supply place. They have held up much better. The main drawbacks are cost and the seal is non standard so you would need to stock up spares/ hope they keep selling them.

I have 4 of them, and if I were to fill and empty them as they froze, I’d end up with an overflowing container in about 3 days. And Im in Arizona in the summer.

America’s Test Kitchen has a bunch of reviews Edit: as others have said, look at restaurant supply stores in your area. Besides stainless, I’d also recommend carbon steel or cast iron since you’re looking for durability and food safety.

I also got one of these recently. The build quality wasn’t as good as I had hoped, but it’s a fun little device and seems like it’ll last a long time. The software is a tad low quality, and I’m worried that it’ll never be updated again since the device is apparently discontinued. On the flip side, it’s not bad for a cheap low power device, and it’s easy to navigate. This device does support Bluetooth, and ones able to pair it with the Beats Flex. It’s weird though because the player and headphones use different volume adjustments, which is one of my low-quality software complaints. Personally, I would’ve rather had an iPod nano 3rd gen.

If you want something durable it’s best to go with two piece poles rather than three pieces. When poles bend or break it’s always on the bottom piece because it’s the thinnest. Unfortunately two piece poles can be hard to find. I’ve been considering getting some MSR poles because it’s a reputable brand and is only two pieces. I just wish they came with a cork handle option because I’ve gotten used to cork and will miss it. https://cascadedesigns.com/products/dynalock-trail-backcountry-poles These are supposedly designed for snowshoeing, which makes sense considering the only time I’ve bent a pole it was while snowshoeing. If you’re looking for maximum durability, these are a good option.

I’ve been using Linksys E4200’s with (Fresh)Tomato firmware for about 10 years now. Recently one failed and I think, due to all the claims about new wifi “versions”, the more modern devices should provide better performance, so I’ve been reading some stuff every now and then and looking for a new setup. People with knowledge who I semi-trust all seem to point at different devices for the wired and wireless part. Some even say you should split the router from the switch (so you can do a managed switch with vlans and stuff) but I will never use any of that and even my E4200’s can handle vlans just fine. I do get that using dedicated access points has its advantages but it does get quite a bit more expensive. On the other end, a lot of brand names are now using Chinese chips in their routers and devices like the GL.iNet MT6000 seem to be one of the current favorites on the openwrt forums (and seems to be a very powerful device). I think I’m still going to go for a separated setup but I’ve got no clue which devices yet. Fwiw, Louis Rossmann recommends some things.

Oki (formerly Okidata) has always had the ethical higher ground, above Brother, AFAICT. Brother does partake in ink waste shenanigans with their inkjets. But you can’t be in the US. Oki pulled out of the US marketplace.
