Grim fact of 1970s adoptions in Scandinavia: the price correlated with the wealth of the country of origin, which correlated with skin colour. This sorted the children by skin colour into the Scandy social classes.
Redeeming fact: even the poorest Scandy family that adopted a child was way, way more affluent than the average in the country of origin.

@mrundkvist Well is is not limited to the 70'ies - it exists today as well and your redeeming fact is a damaging trope for transnational adoptees. Materialistic wealth is no guarantee for happiness and often the adoptees pays a steep price being brought up in white western society and even if you gain access to white privileges you are never an equal participant. Stop covering years of illegal practice under the excuse of materialistic wealth.
