American births (as seen on tiktok) seen incredibly medicalised. Everyone in blue gowns (including husbands) , hair nets, the lot, women on their backs in hospital gowns in stirrups. Is it really like that?
In the uk we all just wore our own clothes. Mum positions herself how she fancies. The midwives give advice and check on mum a bit.

@Tattooed_Mummy in Denmark the prevailing practice is that doctors are not involved in births at all unless something goes wrong, because being pregnant and giving birth is not a disease.
Midwives here are super well respected, and the education to be a midwife is one of the most sought after in the country with only the cream of the crop getting in.

@EvilCartyen similar here. We only saw a dr for a few minutes when epidural was discussed (then the baby arrived ha ha)

@Tattooed_Mummy for our first we never even saw a midwife until the last 5 minutes because everything went so fast. For the other two a midwife was present, but my wife is a real pro at having babies so they did very little.
