There's a gap between theory/knowledge development & doing things & just like it takes the experience of study to become a good academic, it takes the experience of doing to get good at execution.
Sadly, unlike the former, the latter is wildly undervalued & underprioritized.

@jwcph I agree knowledge is rather useless without experience! but I don't know much about academies, I figured practicing stuff was part of their course
maybe the theory vs. practice ratio is different per university/field/country? -

maybe the theory vs. practice ratio is different per university/field/country?@bazkie I think it's very different between studies - e.g. my daughter studies film & they also make short films etc.
But in fields like design & management, for example, studying it academically does not have to involve actually doing it & it would probably be impractical (!) for things like the latter...
