Ah, we missed the 'zero road deaths' target this year. What a shame. Time to take the hummer out, squeeze my eyes shut and smash the accelerator in a pedestrian zone.
Come on people, let's make some sense here
@ketan @lisamelton 332 mass shootings in the US this year. MORE GUNS!

@ketan I think Covid has shown us that humans are tragically bad at assessing and dealing with (collective) risk

Unfortunately this is exactly what is going to happen, love the analogy as a doomer and Carmageddon player anyway.

@ketan yeah. We can fairly easily make it not as bad, and not near as quickly, if we actually try.

People make sense. More and less.
The consent manufacturing machine and the less than human gouls that feed it.... They are sick and no amount of more can fix it. Yet it's their demand.
The inherited pyramids of wealth that drive this configuration foreword ever faster. Men who've no ken or remorse of the consequence their inherited power gives them.
The older I become the more I come to believe it's the ceeding of wealth beyond any man's ability to create in one lifetime that breeds this wanton disregard for the value of life. Do you want to solve climate change?
Progressive inheritance taxation. No loopholes. No exceptions. Level the playing field at death.

@kimlockhartga @ketan yes, exactly.
On my list of books to be read is Andrew Boyd's I Want a Better Catastrophe.
