@the_etrain "Hardfork" is a podcast centered around tech and mostly reports on AI. They started a Mastodon instance as a project to see if "the promise of the Fediverse" was real or not?
It started as a small instance only allowing 2000 new registrations. I'm not sure if they raised that or not yet?

@Mrfunkedude @the_etrain Two different podcasts collaborated on the #Forkiverse experiment. #HardFork is a NYT property, and #SearchEngine is an independent rag.
As to the name they chose, you can listen to the episode.
