Make polluters PAY: fund rescue crews and emergency systems, protect communities, and phase out fossil fuels as fast and fairly as possible to stave off even more climate chaos.

A global tax on the profits of the biggest fossil-fuel companies could raise up to US$400 billion in its first year.

That is money for firefighters, ambulances, rescue boats, hospitals, early-warning systems and community protection, especially where climate disasters hit hardest.

@greenpeace One thing that isn't discussed enough, imo, is that when m/b/trillionaires keep pocketing money they're stealing from society, yes, but they are also taking it from governments (the latter not stealing as they're basically given the key to the vault).

They are bankrupting our governments and by extension our societies and the services we all depend on.

This bell needs to be rung much louder. People need to start making that connection.
